Our Programs

Agri-business Practice

Under this program, our aim shall be to create a group which audits the agri-business practices of the stakeholders and shall advise them on problem areas or potential problems, ensure all legal and insurance compliances, assess their business processes and identify cost saving operations or changes in processes for short term and long term benefits. As a watch dog, the aim of this group shall be to ensure that stakeholders try to adopt best methods of farming, use available technologies, get access to information on innovation and are actively educated on awareness of environmental issues.
Social Cohesiveness

The aim of this program is to build the village clusters as a single cohesive unit. We all know the power of a cohesive society. A fragmented society is always vulnerable and on the other hand, a cohesive society is always prepared to handle the worst of situations. The methods of achieving the targets set forth in this program shall be through help of respected village elders and volunteers who can act as role models for others to emulate. We shall select people from diverse communities and religions who can educate people on the fact that the basic tenets of all faiths are the same – although they all might call ‘GOD’ by a different name. We need to educate people to ‘love’ others than ‘hate’ them. And who better than the villagers themselves who have interactions on a daily basis. Other audio-visual mediums, which are easy to grasp, can be used for educating the village people. And all this cannot be achieved through a very regular socio-cultural interaction between people of villages. This shall be organized by the local monitoring committee, setup within each village and re-elected or re-selected on a round robin basis to achieve fairness in these committees and the work they are aiming at.
Animal Husbandry

India has the largest stock of cattle in numbers with poorest productivity hence depriving additional income to the cattle-owners. Hence the main aim of this program shall be to advise cattle-owners on nutritious live-stock feed for their cattle for enhancing productivity of cattle. Also they need to be trained and advised regularly on maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene and also ensure that their cattle are kept healthy by regular and routine vaccinations. Fisheries and dairy farm products enjoy a huge market – not only locally but also globally. This shall enable villagers to contribute directly to the national economy. Also since most of the activities in dairy farming, cattle rearing and fishing can be done by both men and women, it allows women also to be productive for the household.
Bio-mass Management

Under this program, the following steps shall be implemented to ensure village people enjoy benefits of bio-mass management

· Garbage and Sewage collection for energy stations · Education and Training on Bio-mass energy generation and its advantages · Energy generation and export to nearby townships within the state for revenue build-up
Climate Awareness and Disaster Management

Under this program, all adult members of the village shall be provided awareness on climate and also be trained to handle disaster. This shall enable them to understand and to act when required during accidents like fire or natural calamities like floods, drought or earthquake. A disaster management committee shall be created in the village to tackle such issues and it shall be the role and responsibility of the disaster management committee to train village people through mock-drills and through other audio visual mediums. They shall also be explained the importance of communication and how certain communication protocols can enable them to effectively deal with such situations. The members of disaster management shall be trained through guided workshops as and when such training is required to handle these kind of situations better. The IT setup shall enable this committee and the village people to analyze information on climactic conditions and occurence of natural calamities so they can be better prepared for such incidents.
Energy, Health and Water

The following points need to be tackled to ensure energy production and distribution in villages :-
Collection of Bio-mass and waste and re-use in energy generation Proper evaluation of energy needs per village on a per-household basis Uses of Common Energy for lighting in common places like roads and mandi Infrastructure upgradation for energy distribution Education to villagers on dos and donts and careful handling of electric power Setup of Energy Generation, Distribution and Management Board   Healthcare issues need to be tackled on priority, if any of the programs have to succeed. Health is wealth and we lose wealth directly if we are not healthy. This is more applicable to villagers who have a daily earn and spend cycle. Any health disorder can result in their spending time on bed, away from work. Hence they need to be educated on issues like hygiene, healthcare and its benefits. For tackling healthcare issues the following needs to be ensured :-   Basic Health insurance of all villagers through proper micro-credit, banking and insurance facilities Setup of consortium and funding of advanced health care issues for villagers Setup of small clinics with certified practitioners of different disciplines like Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Allopathy Setting up of a basic testing lab and a sample collection center and tie-ups with urban centers for the same   A local body to look into cleaning of water and proper supply to village shall be created. This group shall be responsible of ensuring clean drinking water to villagers. The members of this local body shall be selected from the village and shall be trained on issues pertaining to cleanliness and importance of clean drinking water. This body also needs to ensure that proper re-cycling of water is being done to ensure the balance of nature and methods of rain-water harvesting is used to ensure regular supply of water in drought hit areas and areas with less rainfall.
Fodder Innovation

Under this program, our aim shall be to create groups which work towards dissemination of information on tackling fodder scarcity through proper use of IT infrastructure and knowledge base and with guided workshops for the same. In each model village an advisory board with experts shall be created who can advice farmers on their farming and crop options for best produce based on the available assets they have and what they can access through channelised funds. And above all, a consortium of stakeholders shall be created with available funds to insure against adverse happenings
Governance and Management

Effective governance and adminstrative controls shall enable implementation of these programs and their success. A good society is often characterized by an effective administration. By governance we mean those structures, functions, processes and organizational traditions that have been put in place to ensure society functions in a free, fair and transparent manner

In this program, the following local bodies shall be created to ensure effective governance :-   · A jury based system of justice for cases and disputes resolution without resorting to urban methods of litigation called the panchayat · Selection body for choosing panchayat members on a round robin basis to ensure fairness · Local policing body with basic combat training for protection against criminals · Bi-annual audit of governance for the local bodies to ensure prevention of systemic decay · Municipal body for ensuring basic sanitation
IT Setup and Training

Under this program, the village shall be equipped with the latest in computing technologies and with proper facilities of low-cost internet so that village people can also reap the benefits of email, information on subjects like farming, health, banking and insurance, law etc. A training body shall be created which shall embark on a ‘train the trainers’ program. Under this program, a batch of potential future trainers shall be picked up and shall be provided professional training for various subjects on computer and IT. After this, these trained people shall be inducted as trainers for the next batches. A computer lab with testing and certification shall also be setup in the village. It is important in this program to have softwares and other training material in dual languages like a local language and english, so proper care has to be taken to ensure products procured fulfil this basis requirement as a rule. Among other applications to be used and provided training for in this lab, an application for farm products’ sale and trading shall be provided to enable the farmers to make effective use of this platform for use in forecasts and analysis of demand and supply and also fix market-competitive prices.
Low Cost Green Housing

Low cost green housing, till date, has been a concept only within reach of the big builders and people with enough money to get constructions done in urbanized setups. However, if we approach low cost green housing on the basis of needs of people in villages and their basic concerns, then it can be addressed very simply. The basic needs from a house in villages, is to provide shelter from natural elements and to still be receptive to the elements of nature, to be able to conserve rainwater where required, to be able to conserve solar power and windpower where needed and to harvest the use of power for farming and other energy needs in villages. Under this program, the village people shall be provided with low cost green housing through proper private sector investments in channels to utilize the natural elements for tapping energy and providing it through proper distribution channels to the village as well as exporting surplus power to urban areas thus aiding in revenue generation for the village. Low cost options for cooking and water heating shall also be provided to village people and they shall be encouraged to use green fuel rather than deplete the forest wood or coal.
Micro-credit, Banking and Insurance

Under this program, a consortium of village people engaged in various economic activities shall be created and a corpus banking scheme in lines of Grameen Bank of Bangladesh, shall be followed. This shall empower all small, medium and large funds at the disposal of farmers and dairy farm owners. The banks shall allow small to medium loans to the consortium members and also support them through a life insurance scheme so that loans provided to them can be covered through insurance. Also all villagers shall be covered through insurance schemes so that any eventuality can be dealth with by the bereaved family. Under this program, village people shall also be taught the concepts of banking and asked to take up jobs in these Grameen Banks. This shall not only create viable job opportunities within the village but also provide a safe and structured platform for money-lending
Youth Empowerment

In this program, the youth from villages shall be educated and many of them shall be inducted into various groups and local bodies of the village to ensure proper and effective administration of that village. They shall also be trained on farming and non-farm activities to ensure that they can support themselves independently later.
Women Empowerment

The development of any society is considered complete when women of that society are socially and economically considered at par with men. Women empowerment has its own benefits but one of the major ones is that fact that it leads to reduction in crime rates and atrocities specially against women. Social empowerment of women is also more important as they are considered as stabilising factors of society at large. Women have proven themselves to be as capable as men all over the world and this should also be one of the main aims of upliftment of model villages. Through this program the following shall be achieved :-   · Education of young women and housewifes · IT education and awareness programs on women rights · Social Interaction between women and men in villages and better participation in governance and administration of villages · Health education and sex education
Wasteland Management

The aim of this program shall be to educate villagers on the uses of plantation and aforestation, bad effects of deforestation on existing fertile land and plan and coordinate events in villages to implement it. A gradual and sustained effort in this regard needs to be taken up for reaping benefits of this program.
